Hey, I'm Alive

So, sorry for dropping off the grid there, folks! I ride two airplanes and suddenly can't put my thoughts in order. Sheesh.

Actually, the airplanes are not to blame. I got home safe and sound, and so did my luggage. That night I stayed up really late with my two at-home sisters, and we laughed A LOT and talked about boys and sister stuff like that, and then we finally went to bed and thank God that we were all on break!

Wednesday, I seriously rocked. I unpacked all four suitcases into my new room {as in, my room was moved to another room without my presence, and then my sis on Spring Break crashed in there, and it was chaos...actually, it still is; it's just shut-up-in-drawers chaos now.}. Like a boss.

Thursday, #bestierunion!!!!! Totes fun. We talked about Doctor Who and sexuality and passion and oh yeah our future place together. You know you're best friends when...you talk about all of that during a 30 minute lunch period. Yup.

Also, my grandma moved in with us. We had the MCs come and help us load things in the truck and drive the mile down the road and then unload. We got it all done in just a few hours, which was nice. Grandma's been getting settled pretty well, and I think it's all going to work out for us.

I started work this past Monday. It's been fun. I'm learning a lot, mainly that getting up before 6am is NOT my favorite thing, but oh wait, I already knew that. :-p But seriously, it's been great. I've also been getting my name out there for some tutoring and babysitting jobs, and I have an interview for a receptionist position tomorrow, so hopefully I can start making bank and get a place sooner. Apparently the old saying "Cash is king" applies to the housing market too. So if you think of it, please pray that I find the perfect position{s}.

In other news, I'm really looking forward to sharing tomorrow's Funny Friday, because it's a doozy. AJ, you know what I'm talking about. Heck to the yeah.

Alright, peeps, I hope that I've convinced you that my heart still beats. Peace out til tomorrow!

Goals

Spring Break- two of the most glorious words in the entire English language! Today I accomplished my Spring Break goal: fill a photo album with pictures from a photo shoot my sisters and I did last spring. Two days ago I went through several hundred pictures (yes, hundreds! our photographer is thorough!) and selected my favorite 24 shots. Today, I confirmed with my sister my selections, and then we went to the drugstore and printed them off. We got home and spent a few minutes fussing over the order, but it is all done!

My great-aunt gave me the photo album for Christmas, and when I saw it, I knew that it was the perfect one for this photo shoot. So during the stress of finals a couple weeks ago, I made it my goal to fill the album by the end of Spring Break. And I have done it! My other Spring Break goal is to apply to the school-within-the-school at the local university. The application is due Monday, and my goal is to mail it on Saturday before it's due. So I finished my rough draft of my essay today, and then tonight my friend and fellow applicant are going to go over our essays over the phone. Then I will print the essay and my transcript and will get myself an envelope and stamp! I can almost taste the finished product!

My goal for the summer is to make one of my MC year, because when my parents bought me a camera, it came with a free book of 24 pics {I think? Have to double-check!} that I send to the company and they'll put together for me. So that is my summer goal. Well, on a more long-term note, my goal is to graduate from college without any debt, and so to do that, I must work. So farewell for now, readers- it's off to work I go! :)

So I've been applying to a bunch of colleges this Christmas season, and I'm praying that God will lead me to just the right school...but I haven't been trusting Him to do so. I keep wanting Him to do things in my timing, my way, but that's not how God operates. He has perfect timing, not me, so I have to wait and rest in Him. He has the perfect school all picked out, with testimonies ready to abound as I apply and get in...I just don't know where it is yet!

My mom told me the other night that I have to worship my way through this. Yes, I can pray, but I can have a sucky attitude while I pray, so that doesn't really work. But it is impossible to have a bad attitude and remain mad at God while you worship Him. It can't be done. Try it, I dare you. Your attitude, your problems, your anger and frustration and desire to strangle some necks will all diminish as His Presence invades your heart and mind.

So that's where I'm at, readers. I'm choosing to worship as I trust and rest in Him. God SO has the better plan than me, so I just have to praise Him for that and keep believing Him.
